Through many years of experience Gavin has developed a keen understanding of the many challenges and opportunities faced by small to medium sized businesses and smaller ASX listed companies. He is acutely aware of the many dilemmas confronting owners and managers as they develop their strategic initiatives or deliberate between funding and staffing rapid business growth or consolidating business units. In the 1990's, Gavin took responsibility for establishing the finance/accounting divisions in several green-field operations in Western Australia, environments which vigorously tested and refined his leadership and communication skills. During this period he became extensively involved in the introduction of self-empowered work teams in a large Federal Government corporation together with contemporary management practices such as Key Performance Measurement, World's Best Practice benchmarking, Activity Based Costing and elements of the Balanced Scorecard approach.
During the 1980's and 1990's, Gavin directed the implementation and migration of several management and financial reporting systems from main frames and mini computer environments to PC networks including integration of accounting applications with those of manufacturing, logistics and sales, incorporating TQM and MRPII concepts.
